Tír na nÓg Montessori School was established in September 1983 by Linda Winning (3-12 years) AMI Diploma and Benincasa Diploma.

Jennifer O Donovan (nee Winning) is the Principal at Tír na nÓg.

The school was originally located in the grounds of Colaiste Mhuire, Douglas Road, Cork -  now known as Reeves Wood. In 1992, two classes moved to Copperfield House, 6 Clermont, Douglas Road, Cork and by September 1993, all classes were based in Clermont.

All teaching staff at Tír na nÓg have successfully completed a teacher training course in the AMI, St Nicholas or Early Years Teacher Training Colleges.

At Tír na nÓg we aim to ensure that the unique qualities of each child is recognised by giving them a happy and secure learning enviroment.

The learning enviroments are maintained by fully trained staff. As each child develops physically, socially, intellectually and emotionally to his/her full potential, a strong sense of independence is fostered. Self-esteem and self-respect will grow so that the child will in turn respect others.
